University of Guelph Entrance Scholarship 2025
The University of Guelph in Canada is inviting applications from eligible candidates for fully funded Master’s programs beginning in Fall 2025. If you have experience in plant science, genetics, or related fields and a strong research interest, this might be the perfect fit for you.
The funding is provided through the Dry Bean Breeding and Computational Biology Laboratory, housed within the Department of Plant Agriculture. It comes with full tuition coverage, a living stipend, and hands-on training in cutting-edge plant science research.
The team at Guelph is looking for two Master’s students to work on a research project that focuses on dry bean seed coat colour, especially in cranberry and pinto beans.
Why does this matter? Seed coat darkening affects how beans look and how long they can be stored, which in turn impacts market value and consumer interest. So, this research will use modern tools like genomics and imaging technology to figure out how to fix that.
You’ll be part of an exciting collaboration with the University of Toronto Scarborough, and the work you do could help boost food quality and security globally.
