Every year, the John Monash Scholarship for Excellence support the most outstanding international students with $40,000 which lasts spread out over four years and is meant to help cover your study costs.

As a bonus, scholarship winners are also invited to join Monash Minds, a leadership program for first-year students.

For students applying for an undergraduate degree at Monash, if you are applying through VTAC and have an ATAR of 98.00 or higher (or the equivalent) it means that you’ll be automatically considered for the scholarship. There is no need for a separate application if you have these requirements.

Eligibility Criteria for John Monash Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

Be an international student

Be in your final year of Year 12 or studying the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Australia

You need to have a plan to start an undergraduate degree at a Monash University campus in Australia. Just incase you are asked this in the application…. Say Yes.

That’s $10,000 each year for up to four years, as long as you’re studying full-time (48 credit points per year)

Another eligibility criteria is an invitation to apply for Monash Minds. Monash Minds is a leadership platform for first-year students.

You might also be asked to take part in Monash events or promotions, to share your experience

Application Process for the John Monash Scholarship

If you want to apply, just follow these steps:

1. Go to the Monash University website and find the scholarship page.

2. Apply for an undergraduate course through the VTAC portal.

3. If you meet the requirements, you’ll automatically be considered for the scholarship. After this there will be no need to fill out a separate application.
