The University of Idaho Master’s Scholarship is a fully funded for both local and international students who want to gain hands-on experience in range science through a practical, team-based research project.
This opportunity is perfect for someone who wants to build skills, work with others, and connect with experts in agriculture, animal science, and land management.
Where You’ll Be Based:
The position is part of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the University of Idaho, specifically in the Department of Animal, Veterinary, and Food Sciences.
However, your main work location will be the Nancy M. Cummings Research, Extension, and Education Center (NMCREEC).
In this scholarship you’ll Do lead a small team of students and seasonal workers. You will also work directly with local cattle ranchers to carry out research. In addition you will collaborate with scientists and people from government land agencies.

It also helps if you’ve:
Lived or worked in rural or farming areas
Worked on ranches or farms, or as a range technician
Know how to drive ATVs, 4WDs, and can tow trailers.

If selected, here’s what the scholarship offers:
$31,000 yearly salary to support your living expenses
A chance to design and carry out your own research project that fits with the main study
Free housing in an on-site dorm if you choose to stay there you’ll get your own room and share common spaces with other students or interns (but it’s optional; you’re not required to live there).
