CHEVENING-ELIGIBLE COUNTRIES
One of that most impactful support not just students but professionals recieve is scholarship. The Chevening scholarship is one of these support as it has helped a lot of professionals from different countries to improve academically and otherwise.
The Chevening scholarship is not meant for everyone, citizens from some countries are eligible while citizens from some are not eligible. Chevening-eligible countries usually consist of low- and middle-income countries where majority of the citizens may not be able to afford the expenses of studying in a UK university even when they deserve it. These countries are in Africa, Asia, the Americas, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe.
In these countries, there is usually rush and pressure among professionals who want to participate on the programme. Statistics has shown that over 55,000 professionals have been helped by the Chevening Scholarship Programme. Based on data collected and research, the Chevening scholarship programme has assisted over 1500 Nigerians, 2000 Malaysians and Indonesia etc. Every year, over hundred thousand professionals apply from different low and middle income countries. Only for about 1500-1650 people to be selected from these countries. This implies that the programme is a very competitive one.
